Taipei Botanical Garden - A Toddler in Taipei - Explore Taiwan with Kids

The First Botanical Garden in Taiwan

First built as a nursery in 1896 during the Japanese colonial period, the site was expanded and renamed Taipei Botanical Garden in 1921. The garden contains more than 2,000 plant species, and contains several areas including a large lotus pond, an indigenous plant section, and a large fern area with wooden platforms. The site is easy to reach by the MRT, and is also walkable from the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial. Most paths are stroller friendly, and the site is a good place for little ones to walk (and run) to burn off excess energy.
