Baby Boss

Bear's World XinYi - A Toddler in Taipei - Explore Taiwan with Kids

A Career-themed Amusement Center

On the 7th Floor of the Taipei Living Mall is Baby boss, a role playing amusement center, in which kids can learn about different jobs. There's a play town and kids can go to different store fronts to learn and participate in each occupation. Occupations include fireman, gold miner, pilot, construction worker, chef, and about 40 others. Each session last for around 30 minutes, and kids dress up in the attire for the occupation, and participate in an activity related to the job. Parents are not allowed inside any of the activities, but can watch from the window. Once a child completes an activity they are paid in Baby Boss currency, which can then be used as a tuition fee required for some of the occupations, saved in the Baby Boss bank, or spent to buy small toys.

A bilingual map is available listing all the occupations and times, with occupations marked with a star being the most friendly for foreign visitors, as all sessions are in Chinese. There’s also a small play area for kids under 3, and a place to buy lunch/snacks on site.

It’s worth doing some research before you go on which sessions that might interest your kids, and reading blogs on other visitor’s experiences - as some occupations are more interesting than others! Also, the center can get quite busy with visiting school groups, so it’s worth calling ahead and asking about crowd levels, if you want a less chaotic visit. ;)
