A Scenic Meadow Area with Tall Grass on YMS Mountain

Midway up Yangmingshan mountain, a visit to Qingtiangang makes for a memorable outing... especially if the water buffalos are out in the meadow! Parents with older children can start at Lengshueikeng visitor station, and go on a 1.6 km hike to the meadows. The path starts very flat and stroller friendly, and crosses a suspension bridge. After the bridge, the path is made up of stones and leads to a small pond with lily pads and reeds. The path gets a little more challenging, as there’s a lot of stairs. A little further, the path leads up to Qingtiangang, a scenic meadow area with tall grass, and home to a herd of water buffalo. It can be pretty crowded on the weekends, but is still incredibly scenic.

For those with younger children, there's a bus that runs to the Qintiangang visitor center, which is .6km away from the meadows. If the water buffalo are out, it makes for a really incredible experience, as the animals are fun to watch and you can really enjoy the natural beauty of the area, just be careful of cow pies!

If you've hiked up to Qintiangang from Lengshueikeng, there's busses available to bring you back - just be careful as they can be very crowded on weekends and there is a long wait. On returning to Lengshueikeng visitor’s center, visitors can enjoy the foot hot spring across the road, and when it isn’t crowded it’s a fun place for kids to splash around while parents soak their feet!
