Taipei Maple Resort is a restaurant on Yangmingshan, and the play space is nature! Kids can eat outside while watching butterflies, listening to birds, and even play in a little stream on the property. Meals include small hot pots and fried vegetable meals, and seating consists of benches next to the stream (as long as the water isn’t too high), little cabins, and tables with shade umbrellas. Shilin District Restaurants with Kid-friendly Themes:
1. 1942 (I) and 1942 (II)
Located near the Chinese Culture University on Yangmingshan are some buildings formerly used as American military housing units. These units have recently been converted into restaurants. One of these restaurants is 1942 (which was originally an American themed restaurant). However, the original 1942 restaurant was converted into a Thai restaurant, with a second restaurant opening next door called 1942 II serving mostly Western food. There’s 4 little bikes on the porch toddler age children can ride on, and a big yard joins both 1942 restaurants where kids can play.
