A Park and Museum

A small 4 hectare park at the site of the former Children’s Transportation Museum, the Hakka Cultural Park can be an interesting place to walk around and explore with little kids. The rural experience zone offers a glimpse into Hakka agricultural practices, and is a pretty spot to visit. After visiting the Hakka Cultural park, visitors can also access the nearby Guting Riverside Park from a pedestrian bridge located inside the park.

Things to do with kids:

  • Take a walk around the scenic ‘Rural Experience Zone’ to see agricultural practices of the Hakka.

  • Check out the wooden buildings that kids can enter and run around.

  • Look at the traditional Hakka Shrine.

  • Walk through terraced fields, which contain a collection of plants harvested by the Hakka people.

  • Try to spot fish in the stream running through the park.

  • Find the uniques looking statues scattered through the park.

  • Enter the nearby Hakka museum to see the dragon near the entrance (the rest of the museum may not be interesting for little kids.)

  • Sample local Hakka cuisine at the food court. ​
