A Free Play Center in Zhongzheng District
With the goal of encouraging play and bonding between parents and children, Taipei City government established a parent-child play center in every Taipei district. All the centers are free, and designed to be warm and friendly environments. The 131 Fun center was the first center established by the government.
The entrance to 131 Fun takes up the ground floor (but no lockers like the other centers). The next level contains an arts and craft room with small tables with art supplies, and a large chalk board along one side of the room and a long magnet board on the other side. The next level of the center contains the under 2 baby room, a reading area, and a room full of various learning toys - including a role playing hamburger shop area. The top floor of 131 Fun consists of a large room for physical play, such as walking on plastic balance beams, playing on crawling mats, or going down a small soft slide into a little ball pit.
There is a morning play session from 9 AM to 12 PM, and an after play session from 2 PM to 5 PM Tues - Fri. The weekend play sessions are 9:30 AM to 11 AM, 1 PM to 2:30 PM, and 3:30 PM to 5 PM.

Things to do with kids:
Draw with chalk, color pictures, and do other crafty things in the art room.
Try out different musical instruments among the learning toys.
Drive around big toy trucks.
Cook play food at the hamburger shop, complete with cash register.
Sit down and have a picnic with plastic food.
Play with animal puppets.
Look at some picture books, but mostly in Chinese.
Run around the big open play room on the top floor.
Babies can play with age appropriate sensory toys in the 2 and under room.
