A Museum Near 228 Peace Park
The National Taiwan Museum was established in 1908, and is the oldest museum in Taiwan. The main branch is located at the north end of 228 Peace Park, and the Land Bank Exhibition Hall is located across the street. The Nanmen Park Exhibition Hall is a few blocks away.
The main National Taiwan Museum contains exhibits related to the natural history and biodiversity of Taiwan - exhibits include displays about rocks and minerals, and dioramas of plants and animals of Taiwan.
The Land Bank Exhibition has an interesting dinosaur exhibit, which includes huge skeletons that young kids will be sure to enjoy. There’s also a few exhibits related to the building’s former use as a bank.
The Nanmen Park Exhibition Hall covers industrial history with exhibits on camphor-processing and modern industry. There’s a children’s corner of the park that includes 3D art to replicate the camphor tree ecosystem.

Main Exhibition Hall
Visit the train engines (behind glass) as well as the outdoor art displays near the front of the National Taiwan Museum.
See the mineral and rock display, which includes figurines and a sword made out of jade.
Look at the rock landscapes permanent exhibit.
Visit the kaleidoscope room, which consists of a small room filled with mirrors and projecting colored patterns on the floor.
Go upstairs and check out the animal and flora of Taiwan displays.
Land Bank Exhibition Hall
Marvel at the Dinosaur skeletons on display in the main exhibition room.
Grab a snack at the Dino cafe.
Wander around the inside of a bank vault, and check out the currency exhibit.
Visit the recreation of the old bank office.
Nanmen Park
Visit the interactive children’s corner, which includes 3D art that replicates the camphor tree ecosystem.
Explore the history of Camphor industry exhibit, which shows tools used to refine camphor oil.
Check out any special exhibits, as some are child-focused.
Walk around outside to see the nearby White Palace, as well as a large fountain.
