A MRT Exhibition Center in Beitou District
Located at the Taipei Metro Beitou Resort is the MRT Emergency Evacuation Exhibition Center. The center uses hands-on exhibitions and interactive activities to teach kids and adults about what to do in an emergency situation. The interactive areas include a tunnel escape area, train escape area, smoke room, fire extinguisher room, and a station escape room. There’s also driving simulation areas and lots of equipment to see in the main MRT exhibition area, and an area to learn about track switches outside. Kids can operate safety equipment, and learn how to exit a train in case of an emergency, plus explore up close the parts of the train they normally don’t get to see or touch. Visiting the center requires a reservation and a group of 10 or more on weekdays, or else individual visits can be made on Saturdays or summer/winter school vacations. Depending if the tour guide on duty can speak English, and how crowded it is that day, it's possible to have a private English-speaking tour!
To visit the center, get off at Fuxinggang MRT Station and walk over the MRT overpass to the other side of the tracks. On the 2nd floor you'll find a guard at a desk that can help you sign-in and enter the gated area, then go outside and continue over an overpass until you reach signs that point you in the direction of the exhibition center
