A Nature Park in Da'an District
If you’re looking for a taste of nature, but don’t want to travel very far, visiting Fuzhoushan park is a good option. The park is entirely wooded, and a great place for spotting small animals. When we visited we were able to see two lizards, lots of grass hoppers, butterflies, snails, and even a beetle.
The main wooden walkways that links the park’s three viewing platforms (red on the map) are okay for older kids, but there’s tons of steps and the walkways are pretty worn. If you want to avoid the steps, the park also has paved roads for maintenance vehicles (blue and yellow on the map) that are very shady and make for an easy alternative walking path for younger kids. The roads don’t go all the way to the viewing platforms, but pretty close so that you only need to hike up a couple flights of stairs. Once you’ve visited this park, consider visiting the nearby Fuyang Eco Park, which is across the street, or event the Taiwan Insect museum, which is close to the nearby Linguang MRT station.
