Bailusishan Trail

Yuanjue Waterfall Hike - A Toddler in Taipei - Explore Taiwan with Kids

A Family Hike Near Dahu Park

If you’re visiting Dahu Park in Neihu, there’s an easy to access hiking trail at the edge of the park that provides some beautiful views from the top. The hike takes about 30 minutes to the top, and includes stairs but they gradually go up (not elephant mountain style staircases). The path is made of stones, and the first part doesn’t include a guard rail, but as you get higher a guard rail is included. At the top of the mountain is a flat dirt viewing platform with chairs and views of Taipei 101, also at the top is an exercise area for adults and more viewing areas. Visitors can either retrace theirs steps to go back to Dahu Park, or continue on the path, which leads to the Huzhou MRT Station.

To reach the trail head, walk through the park (away from the MRT) and take a left to walk on the sidewalk around the edge of the park. Follow the sidewalk to a boardwalk that leads to a small temple - you’ll encounter a staircase along the way, but it just leads to a viewing platform and will rejoin the main path after a few minutes. Take the stairs next to the temple and once on the a path take a right for the Bailusishan Trail (白鷺鷥山). If you take a left, it leads to the Kangleshan (康樂山) trail, which is less kid-friendly.

When we visited there was a snack truck parked near the entrance of the Bailusishan Trail with water and snacks available for purchase.
